"A League For The Teams, By The Teams And About The Teams"

NY, NY, The RAFL has made a few moves this week one with regret as the Long Island Eagles will take a leave of absence for the 2007 season and come back restructured for the 2008 season. ""It was a difficult decision for all those involved but in the end it's the best move for both Eagles and the RAFL" said league commissioner Adam Turkel the second move involves the addition of the Baltimore Jaguars. The Jaguars have decided to enter the RAFL for the 2007 season. "They are a good established organization that has been around for 5 years. This also fills out our divisions to 4 divisions with 4 teams each in two conferences. The playoffs will now be the two division winners from each conference and the next two best records in each conference totaling 8 playoff teams”. Added Turkel.

With this addition the RAFL is officially done adding teams for the season. "Unless a full division comes in we can't alter anymore scheduling" added Turkel. "It's been amazing how many calls we've been getting, just this week we received seven calls from teams up and down the eastern seaboard. The RAFL has not contacted any teams since March but the calls have not stopped. While some teams had second thoughts about joining this season others have given a full commitment for 2008. "As it stands now we should round out somewhere around 40 teams next season" Said league president Charles McGill. "With our affiliations and our future affiliations with leagues from the North and South we should have a full national playoff system in place by 2008 with 120 teams in the mix."
