RAFL WEEK ONE RECAP
New York, NY - The RAFL broke out this week in a big way which included a few big surprises and a couple of great contests.
First up the Virginia Cowboys a brand new franchise took apart the veteran Baltimore Jaguars in a one sided 52 - 18 victory. Reggie Shipp said afterwards that the whole team had a great performance and he was estatic at the way things turned out.
First year squads Philadelphia Braves and Delaware Bison battled buty in the end the Braves took home some beef with the 22 - 0 victory.
Another first year franchise the Long Island Pit Bulls took on the rebuilt Brooklyn Jazz but the Pit Bulls were into hearing any music. The Pit Bulls ran, ran, ran all the way to victory. Owner Khalid Merrit was really excited about his teams opening win on it's home turf, "We wanted to come out and prove we could play ball for our fans!"
In one of the closest games of the day the Maryland Nemisis escaped DC with the 22 - 18 victory. The contest was the first victory for the new franchise.
The Veteran laiden New York Predators took on the much improved Brooklyn Blue Devils but the contest was one sided as the Preds won 20 - 0. Head Coach Matt Aiello was just happy to get this win under his belt. "They made play sloppy football at times but a win is a win"
In the tightest contest of the day the Hudson County Cowboys corralled the Empire State Wolfpack 16 - 15. The Pack gave them all they could handle but in the end the boys held on for the victory.
