"A League For The Teams, By The Teams And About The Teams"

State of the RAFL
New York, NY, I would like to declare that the state of the RAFL is strong in year one. We've had an amazing start with great organizations and building blocks like no other league in it's infantcy has had. we have the fortune of currently having the #1 ranked team in the nation, and 2 top 10 teams in the nation. we have the good fortune of having a team in the MLFN National Championship game in January. We did have a speed bump with the lies and mis leading of the LCFL and the cancelation of the East/West game, but we have remained united in our goals. Our goals continue for 2008 and beyond, to be a league for the teams, by the teams, and about the teams. We will have an All Star game, and soon.
We currently have many applications and expect a growth to 20-24 teams for 2008, including some strong organizations which have already applied. Some may suprise everyone. We are also helping to form an association of leagues for 2008 which will give us a national playoff format if all goes well, with possible partner leagues the SAFL, IFL, and SWFL.
We will look to move forward towards a neutral site in a nice stadium atmosphere paid for by the league for our 2008 Atlantic Bowl II. We will continue to attempt to enforce what we think are nessecary team operations like filming games to submit highlights, keeping stats for league leaders, hopefully more participation by coaches and owners in team weekly MVP's for All Star purposes. But we can't do that without contributions from our organizations. That is the one place we all slipped a little this year, but it will be corrected. We will continue to have the most updated web site in Minor League football, as well as the most cared about football not only in the East, but in the country.
I'd like to thank President Charles McGill for his vison shared by us both from our days with our former league, and Bill Simo for his hard work and great job on our website. I'd like to thank our charter member teams for their belief in us and our objective as well as their dedication......to provide football as fair as possible, and as in-expensive as possible with a strong structure and rules set up. And for their participation which has made the RAFL what it was in its first year. But most of all I'd like to thank all of you players for playing and loving the game that I miss playing more than I've ever missed anything in my entire life and I ask you all to continue to treat it with the love and respect it deserves, and cherrish every day you can play while you can. Without you guys on the board, and on the field, there would be no RAFL. I say again, the state of the RAFL is stong as hell, and getting stronger every day. Thank you all.
