RAFL TEAMS STILL BALLIN
METROBOWL 2007
While most teams have folded up shop for the year the RAFL teams are still going strong not only in tournaments but beyond.
In updated Metro Bowl news the two top RAFL's teams are set to go head to head once more as they have each reached the Metro Bowl final. The Monarchs 18 and 0 will face off against the Predators 17 - 1 for the 2007 Metro bowl championship. The championship game will be held this Saturday night December 8th, 7pm at Monsignor Farrell H.S. in Staten Island, NY.
In Metro Bowl 2 action the Virginia Cowboys will face off against the Virginia Hornets and the Brooklyn Jazz will face off against Westchester Steelers.
First you have the PW Monarchs who after winning the RAFL championship game received and accepted a bowl nomination to play in Florida January, 2008. They are currently ranked number one in the country on several polls and have been one of the teams which has made the RAFL get high marks across the board for it's first season. In the midst of all they have entered the Metro Bowl Tournament and have already taken on and defeated a EFA powerhouse Baltimore Warriors 18 - 0 on the road. They currently boast a 16 and 0 record and are looking for more. Right behind the Monarchs are the New York Predators seeking to defend their 2006 Metro Bowl title they are currently 15 and 1 and 1 and 0 in the 2007 tournament after defeating the Brooklyn Seminoles 38 - 0 at home. Depending on which poll you look at the Predators are either in the top 20, 15 or top 10 in the country.
Other teams in the are the tournament Virginia Cowboys who lost a heartbreaker to the EFA uber power Virginia Hornets 19 - 14. The Empire State Wolfpack lost a 18 - 6 to the LI Panthers and both the HV Cowboys (in OT) and LI Pit Bulls suffered defeats. Lastly the Maryland Nemesis take the field this week against the Virginia Hornets.
