"A League For The Teams, By The Teams And About The Teams" |

The NEPA Miners are on a mission to improve football in North Eastern Pennsylvania and believe a move into the (RAFL) Regional Atlantic Football League helps accomplish that. The RAFL’s mission statement reads “A league for the teams, by the teams and about the teams". This statement speaks volumes for the opportunity to help the Miners organization and the opponents they play to put the best product on the field each week.
After an impressive 7-3 regular season and a first year playoff appearance in the (NAFL) North American Football League, the Miners were not content to rest on their 2007 success. The Miners have recently announced the appointment of Carmon Flynn as Vice President of Development and Public Relations in order to strengthen management, helped move All- Star Offensive Lineman Sean Hill into the Arena II Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers Camp and hosted a professional tryout for the newly forming All-American Football League. What’s next? Strengthening the opportunity for players to succeed and improving the game day product. How? The NEPA Miners are proud to announce a move into the Regional Atlantic Football League. “I felt compelled to make the move with the strong business structure they have in place along with some outstanding organizations”, said Miners Owner/Head Coach Dan LaMagna. The RAFL has the number one minor league team in the country according to Minor League Football News, the Prince William Monarchs from Virginia. The Monarchs went 15-0 in the RAFL and are currently 3-0 in tournament play. The league also features the New York Predators who went 14-1 in the RAFL losing in the championship game to the Monarchs.
The Predators, Monarchs and Miners are former NAFL teams that share the same standard of excellence from the league and their teams. “It is very important for us to put the best product on the field on Saturday nights and we felt the RAFL gives us the best chance to do this.” LaMagna said. The RAFL also has an official certified sports agent to help players moving up to the next level and recognizes the efforts of their players through weekly award winners and an All-Star game that players can afford to participate in and get scouted. This type of league support gives more players the chance to test their abilities and enjoy the game at a lower cost. “The RAFL couldn't be happier to have a class organization like the Miners join our family. They typify what the RAFL is all about. The Miners will not only be an incredible asset on the grid iron, but will only strengthen the business aspect of our league. They bring what any league could want to the table in integrity and experience” League Commissioner, Adam Turkel.
The season for both leagues starts in the early summer and both leagues compete to have the number one team in the nation. The NEPA Miners will continue to build their momentum throughout the off season in order to provide an action packed family night out for their fans.
