"A League For The Teams, By The Teams And About The Teams" |

New Brunswick NJ---The New Jersey Warriors announced today their decision to make a move from the Garden State Football League (GSFL), to the Regional American Football League (RAFL). The move was made with the intention of continuing the growth of the Warriors in becoming one the Elite Programs in Minor League Football. "The management staff of the Warriors researched several different Leagues," commented Co-Owner Ed Gladney, "and during the research process, we gathered information on each of the Leagues, reviewed the information, and after careful evaluation, decided the RAFL was the best fit for us in 2008. The GSFL was good to us in giving us a start as a first year organization. Ronnie and I are very appreciative for what they did for our organization. While us leaving is not a negative reflection on the GSFL and their teams, we just felt going to the RAFL was a better fit for us in 2008. Commissioner Tony Baccale of the GSFL, was very understanding and respectful to us. We only felt it right in making our decision as quickly as possible and to handle this in the most professional manner."
When Co-Owner Ronnie Paige was asked his opinion on the move, he commented, "I am happy that this process is over with. The calls that I was receiving and the whole process can become somewhat stressful. We wanted to have a decision in place as quickly as possible so we then handle the business of continuing to develop our business structure for 2008 and also begin the process of player recruitment in and about the New Brunswick area. I only hope people can appreciate how we handled this because it is never easy to make a change like this. This was nothing personal towards the management and teams of the GSFL. The competition there was tough. Each week we knew we had to play ball and be ready for war. But now we look forward to continued competition on the field, but also a continued growth as a Football Organization. If we are to one day be compared with the Elite programs, then we need to continue our growth on and off the field."
"We do feel that the RAFL will give us the added direction we need in become the Program we are building here," said Gladney. "They can help us in developing a regional presence and giving our players a different avenue in achieving their dreams. The League also helps in keeping our costs down. We have been working on ways of helping players understand what it takes in running and managing Minor League programs. The RAFL will help with the business development that we have been looking to build on. I know many people will question the move, but we feel what we are looking for in 2008, can be addressed in the RAFL. I think I can only enhance what we have already established." The Warriors News Report wishes the New Jersey Warriors good luck with their new venture for 2008. |
