MLFA and NFA form a 166 Team National Playoff Structure
Today, the NFA (National Football Association) which consists of the Regional American Football League (RAFL) covering from Connecticut to Virginia and the Premier Football League (PFL) which covers Louisiana to Virginia announced that they will be joining forces with the MLFA (Minor League Football Alliance) To represent the East and the South in the MLFA Fall National Championship and the Spring/Fall World Alliance Bowl.
In the structure, the RAFL Champion will play the PFL Champion on November 2nd 2008 for the NFA Championship which will represent the Eastern Conference Fall Championship of the MLFA. Mean while, in the North and West the IFL, NEFL and NPFL will battle it out for the Western Conference Fall Championship with the winner headed east to face the winner of the RAFL/PFL game on November 9th 2008. The winner of the MLFA Fall National Championship will then face off against the Winner of the MLFA Spring National Championship (CVFL, GCFL, NCAFF, SWFC, NMAFL, FFL) on November 16th 2008 in the World Alliance Bowl. “ This is a great day in minor league football when you can get a playoff structure of independent leagues participating in the nation’s largest association for a true national champion” stated RAFL Commissioner and Northeastern Representative of the MLFA Adam Turkel.
With Turkel and Charles McGill becoming the Northeastern Directors of football operations for the MLFA, Steve Lett, President of the PFL will also gain the title of MLFA Southern Director in charge of football operations. “We’re excited to have these great organizations join and complete our national playoff picture” stated the MLFA’s Jeff King.
The NFA teamed up with the MLFA creates a 166 team alliance making it the largest football entity in the country.
