NEPA Miners Football & Entertainment Announce Start Up of Coach Charlie Wysocki’s Web Site, Camp and Foundation
The NEPA Miners organization is proud to announce that Coach Charlie Wysocki’s amazing story can now be found online at www.charliewysocki.com.
Charlie’s Web Site will help share his amazing story on a national level as the Miners expect to see a book written on Charlie’s life and hopefully even a movie some day.
The site will be the store front of the Charlie Wysocki Foundation to help educate and support individuals and families that deal with Bipolar Disorder and other mental illnesses. Coach Charlie Wysocki is entering his fourth year as part of Coach LaMagna’s coaching staff and currently resides in Carbondale .
Charlie was an All-State football player and wrestler at Wilkes-Barre Myers before attending the University of Maryland and becoming there second all-time leading rusher. Charlie had a serious ankle injury his senior year which dropped his stock on draft day. Charlie would receive several free agent offers before accepting a free agent invite with the Dallas Cowboys. During his time in camp with the Cowboys Charlie spoke with legendary Head Coach Tom Landry about not feeling well. This would be the end of his football career as Charlie was stricken with bipolar disorder. Charlie’s life has been full of ups and downs as he continues to battle this illness but now Charlie hopes to help others who battle mental illness.
The Miners would like to MyNEPA.INFO for creating Charlie web site and supporting his foundation. Continue to check back with Charlie’s Web Site as we keep receiving more information from the University of Maryland Booster Club and other supporters of Charlie and his foundation.
The NEPA Miners 2nd Annual Charlie Wysocki Camp will be held this Saturday, May 31st 10am-2pm at the Riverfront Sports Complex in Scranton.
