Brooklyn Mariners Announce Try Outs
The Brooklyn Mariners will be holding their annual try out on June 4th, 2008 at 8pm. The location is at their home field, Kings Bay Field which is located on Coyle Street and Voorhees Ave. in Brooklyn NY. For more info, email fordecent32@yahoo.com. There is no charge for this try out.
The NEPA Miners Football and Entertainment Team are gearing up for their 2008 Season. Ladies, Join us as we audition individuals to be part of one of the hottest and most exciting aspects of the game- the Miners Girls Entertainment Team! The Entertainment team tryouts will be held on Saturday April 19th, 2008 from 3pm – 5pm at UNO Fitness in Scranton; must be 18 years old to tryout.
Registration begins at 2:30pm and tryouts will start at 3pm sharp. Please bring a head shot (does not need to be professionally done) for us to keep and $20 for the application fee.
Dance Attire & Appearance for Tryouts: -Make-up should be attractive -Come in a Warm up suit -Hair must be attractive –Worn Down -Crop top/sports bra (Be Creative!) -Boy shorts/Hot Pants -Shoes (dance sneakers, jazz sneakers or shoes)
During the day of auditions dancers will be put into small groups where they will learn a chant, cheer, and a dance. Tumbling is not mandatory but extra points will be awarded if you can tumble. Judging will be based on poise, showmanship, dance and cheer technique, personality, jumps, and personal appearance. The Miners Girls Entertainment team is very important to our organizations efforts to entertain our fans and give back to our community. The Mustangs will be holding open tryouts March 30th at Marcus Foster (Gratz) field at 2pm please try to be there at 1pm to register early!
The North East PA Miners will be holding a tryout and combine Saturday April 12th at the Riverfront Sports Complex in Scranton . Registration is at 9:30am with the tryout/combine running from 10am-1pm. There is a $30 fee for new members and it is free to returning members in good standing and athletes who attended our AAFL Tryout. The tryout fee is to cover the costs of the facility and to make sure new members are serious about trying out for the team. "Our athletes have another month to get into shape and come to the workout ready to compete," said Defensive Coordinator Marty Evans. It is mandatory for all returning members to attend as the coaches will be making cuts and setting a pre-season depth chart after the tryout/combine. The Miners will tentatively start practicing Tuesday April 15th. "We have a lot of new talent entering our program as we are looking to raise the bar for 2008. Our team came out of the gates swinging last season, but this year we need to maintain that fight longer as we look to compete for a national title," stated Head Coach Dan LaMagna.
